Layla Fair Collections — FAQs
How does a Layla Fair collection work?
Each of our collections is limited, intentional, and curated with just a small number of unique garments. We prioritise slow, considered design and making, so quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability lead every decision.
When do collections launch?
Launches are announced on our website and Instagram. Please follow us there to stay up to date. Members always receive early access to our store.
What is Members-Only early access?
The first 24 hours of a collection are reserved for members. Members receive first choice of the limited pieces—sign up to receive access before everyone else.
Why does the online store sometimes take a pause?
In line with our slow fashion ethos, we pause our online store from time to time to reflect, restore, and begin the intentional, considered process of curating the next limited collection.
Why small, limited collections?
To remain intentional and sustainable. We hand-select the finest quality vintage and meticulously restore each piece; we thoughtfully reimagine the garments with pristine remnant materials by hand; every piece is unique. Each piece has its own rich story of heritage, and is ready to continue its contemporary story with you.
Can I pre-order or backorder a sold-out piece?
No. With only a limited number of one-of-a-kind pieces per collection, we don’t offer pre-orders or backorders. Once a garment has been chosen by a customer, it becomes part of their story—preserving integrity and rarity.
How can I make sure I don’t miss a collection launch?

Remnant Luxury Materials — FAQs
What are remnant materials?
Remnant (deadstock) refers to unused, high-quality materials that already exist—often from luxury mills or brands—and would otherwise go to waste. We give these materials new life rather than commissioning fresh production.
Are remnant materials new or vintage?
We choose pristine, luxurious remnant fabrics—typically unused stock from previous production runs. They’re flawless and ready to be transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces.
How do you use remnant materials?
We reimagine vintage nightwear into contemporary garments, adding hand-selected remnant silks, laces, and appliqués. Heritage and luxury, held in balance.
Are deadstock remnant materials sustainable?
Yes. By using existing luxury materials, we prevent beautiful textiles from entering landfill—reducing waste while elevating each garment.
Can I expect variations between garments?
Always. Each Layla Fair piece blends a vintage base with hand-chosen remnant materials. No two are identical—each is a singular, wearable work.
How do I care for remnant fabrics?
Our garments follow a two-step cleansing process before sale:
- Our vintage pieces and luxury fabrics are hand washed and air dried.
- Once crafted, garments are gently hand steamed, ready to wear.
How to care for your garment sustainably at home:
- Hand wash cold only
- Use mild detergent
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not wring
- Flat dry in shade
- Do not iron
- Steam gently if necessary
We always suggest you launder less and steam more.

We disclose any visible traces of time in the product description so you know exactly what to expect. We hand select only high quality vintage. We categorise our vintage garments as follows:
Pristine
Flawless and rare. No visible imperfections. Fabric, finishes, and details are impeccable for its age, preserving the garment’s original elegance and beauty.
Polished
Gently refined with minimal signs of age, such as faint surface marks, tiny snags, or slight fading. Each piece is carefully examined in our studio, and any repairable flaws are thoughtfully restored without compromising the garment’s integrity, so it’s ready to wear or redesign.
Are your vintage garments repaired?
Yes. Minor flaws—small pulls, frays, or loose seams—are professionally repaired in our studio, respecting the integrity of the original piece.
How are your vintage garments redesigned?
After sourcing and cleansing, we redesign each vintage piece with flawless remnant silk and lace, creating a contemporary garment while preserving its vintage heritage.
